Lynwood College Pledge Scholarships – $104,500 Awarded!

LYNWOOD, Calif. – The Lynwood Partners Educational Foundation (LPEF) awarded $104,500 in scholarships to 107 graduating seniors from Lynwood, Firebaugh, and Vista high school during its annual Scholarship Reception held on June 12, 2025. This scholarship helps the Class of 2025 access college opportunities and take meaningful steps toward their future.

Scholarship recipients will attend a wide range of institutions across the country, including Ivy League universities such as Dartmouth and the University of Pennsylvania, as well as prominent California campuses like UCLA, UC San Diego, UC Irvine, Cal State LA, and Cal State Fullerton. Students are also enrolling in private and out-of-state institutions, including USC, Pepperdine University, Louisiana State University, Prairie View A&M University, and other Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Several students will also begin their studies at community colleges, including Long Beach City College, Compton College, and Cerritos College.

“We’re so grateful to our amazing partners and donors who make this possible year after year,” said Elsa Chagolla, Executive Director of LPEF. “Thanks to their generosity, we were able to award a record number of scholarships to our students, including a very special one in honor of Dr. Shawna Dinkins, whose impact will never be forgotten. It’s heartwarming to see our community come together to invest in the futures of our Lynwood students.”

Funding for these scholarships was provided by the support of LPEF partners including California Credit Union, Reliable Liquid Transport, Southern California Edison, the Lynwood Rotary Club, and the Torrance Del Amo Rotary Club, along with many individual donors who contribute throughout the year.

Since its founding in 2015, the Lynwood Partners Educational Foundation has raised over $1.25 million to support student scholarships, school-based grants, and STEM and wellness programs throughout the Lynwood Unified School District. Backed by a renewed $200,000 grant from the California Community Foundation, LPEF will continue to expand services through the Lynwood College Pledge and the Lynwood Alumni Center, offering mentoring, career guidance, and college readiness support for students and graduates.
